Organizations & workspaces

Understand how organizations and workspaces differ, switch between them, and manage workspace settings.

In Flow, organizations manage billing and people, while workspaces manage projects and day-to-day work. This page helps you distinguish the two and locate switching and configuration options.

Concepts

  • Organization: The legal and billing entity for members. Organizations are divided into Personal and Team plans. When a second member joins, a personal organization automatically upgrades to a team plan.
  • Workspace: A collaborative space under an organization. Projects, Kits, jobs, and collaborator teams belong to a workspace, and permissions are scoped to that workspace.
  • Each workspace you join can assign you different roles. A single email can belong to multiple organizations.

Switch workspaces

Click the Workspace button at the top of the sidebar to expand the switcher, then select your destination workspace. At the bottom of the list, you can open Create workspace.

The workspace switcher.
