Import files

Batch import spreadsheet files into Kits: select sources, upload files, and verify import plans.

Requester

Entering strings manually one by one is impractical. This page explains how to batch import spreadsheet files into a Kit's shared draft.

Entry points

In the Table workflow panel at the top right of the Kit grid, or under step 1 "Prepare content", click Import data. First choose your source in Choose a data source.

Data source selection. Local file is currently available; remaining sources are marked as coming soon.

Import workflow

  1. 1

    Select local file

Click Local File, then click Choose a spreadsheet file to upload. Spreadsheet files are processed sheet by sheet.

  2. 2

    Confirm import plan

After uploading, preview the import plan: each sheet displays column role mappings (Key, Source, Translation, Custom column). Verify or adjust, then click Start import.

  3. 3

    Write to shared draft

Import results write to the active shared draft without generating a version directly. An import change report summarizes additions, updates, and conflicts.

Select the spreadsheet file to import.

Select the spreadsheet file to import.

After importing

  • From the import report, you can create a Create delta from an import report or Create hotfix from an import report batch based on the modified scope to re-issue changed and new entries. See Create & issue jobs.
  • If source text in the file conflicts with the draft, resolve it following report prompts; imports will not silently bypass conflicts requiring confirmation.
  • To export the current draft, use Export the current draft in the grid toolbar or workflow panel for archiving or offline workflows.
