Languages & columns
Configure source and target languages in language settings; custom columns attach references, limits, and extra info to keys.

Kit columns fall into three types: Key, language columns (one source column plus target translation columns), and custom columns. This page explains how to configure them.
Language settings
Click Language settings in the workflow panel or grid toolbar to open the settings panel:
- Source language: The source language for the entire Kit. It can only be set once and is locked permanently after creation.
- Target languages: Can be added or removed at any time. Select a language in the dropdown and click Add; clicking Remove hides the column while preserving existing translations, which reappear if the language is re-added.
- Kit owners and reviewers: The default lead is the workspace administrator and cannot be removed. Leads can delegate lead or reviewer status to other members with project write access.
Custom columns
- Click New Column to add custom columns: configure Column Name and cell type (reference, short text, etc.).
- Custom columns commonly hold screenshot notes, character limits, pronunciation guidance, or context that translators need; they appear in the job editor Snapshot context.
- Custom columns with the same name but different types across sheets trigger errors during import; see Import files.
Relationship with jobs
- The Target languages selected when creating a job come from the languages configured here.
- The top of the vendor editor uses Target language to switch languages for each segment; a single job can include multiple target languages, tracking progress per language.
