Teams and collaboration
Members & roles
Invite colleagues to your organization and workspaces, assign roles, and manage pending invitations.
Requester
To bring colleagues in to collaborate, first understand the two member tiers: organization members belong to the company entity, while workspace members are people permitted to work in a specific workspace.
Two member tiers
- Organization members: Belong to the organization. People who accept workspace invitations automatically become organization members. Organization roles (owner, administrator, member) do not grant workspace access on their own.
- Workspace members: Hold roles inside a specific workspace, governing what they can view and edit. Permissions like Kit lead and project write access take effect at this tier.
Invite organization members
Go to Settings → Organization → Organization members:
- 1
Enter email
In the Invite an organization member section, enter the person's Email.
- 2
Select role and scope
Choose an Organization role (Admin or Member), and check the Workspaces you want to invite them to. You can only invite users to workspaces you manage.
- 3
Send invitation
Click Send invitation. The recipient receives an email and joins as an organization member once accepted.
Manage existing members
- The roster lists all organization members by Name, Role, and Status.
- You can Suspend (suspend access), Reactivate, or Remove members. Removing revokes their access to the organization without rolling back past actions.
- An organization must always retain at least one active owner. You cannot modify your own membership role here.
Pending invitations
- The Pending invitations section lists invitations that have not yet been accepted, along with expiration dates.
- If the email was missed, click Resend; if sent in error, click Revoke. The link expires immediately, and the same email can be reinvited later.
- Seats are calculated based on your plan; pending invitations also consume seat allocations.
