Create & issue jobs
Check keys in Kit tables, configure assignments in the drawer, and issue drafts to vendor teams.
Requester
Scoping keys to assign to vendors constitutes a job. The primary path requires three steps: check keys in the grid → fill in assignment details in the "Assign Job" drawer → issue the draft.
Step 1: Check keys and open the assignment drawer
Open the Kit grid and check rows you want translated. Narrow down selections with Search all keys or Sort and Filter, or click Select all matching rows in the table header to capture all filtered results at once.
Once checked, the Create job button appears in the toolbar; click it to open the "Assign Job" drawer on the right.
Step 2: Fill in assignment details
The drawer includes:
- Keys to translate: Shows the count of currently selected keys. A note reminds you that "Select or deselect rows in the table to adjust the scope"—you can continue selecting in the grid without closing the drawer.
- Vendor: Select a single collaborator team; each option displays its member count. Selecting a team with no active members allows saving drafts, but prevents issuing.
- Languages and due date: Target languages can be selected individually or via Select all; Due date and Due time set the delivery deadline with the local time zone; or choose No due date if not urgent.
- Job instructions: Title is required, Instructions provides background and requirements, and Delivery criteria sets acceptance standards (terminology, placeholders, length caps, etc.).
Click Create job at the bottom; a toast confirms "Draft created" and redirects to the job details page.
Step 3: Issue the draft
On the job details page (or opening the draft from the project Jobs tab), click Issue on the "Draft ready to issue" action card:
A toast confirms "Job issued.", and the action card updates to "Waiting for vendor".
Teams with no active members cannot be issued to; the system alerts that "This team has no active team members and cannot be assigned. Choose another team or add members first."—add members in Collaborator teams.
After issuing
- The job appears in the project Jobs tab and the vendor's My Jobs list; translation begins once the vendor accepts.
- You can monitor progress, adjust schedules, or discuss requirements with vendors anytime; see Job details & discussion.
Batch issuing (advanced)
When issuing large volumes or splitting work across multiple teams by "items × languages × services", use Translation batches: in the Kit Table workflow panel under "Versions & releases", click Publisher batch to open the batch page. Check items and languages, select services (Translation or Review, where review waits until translation completes), set priority, deadline, and instructions, click Create base batch, assign vendor teams, preview assignments, and click Issue batch.
The top of the batch page also offers two change-driven shortcuts referencing fixed import reports:
- Create delta from an import report: Defaults to selecting new, changed source, and review-pending rows.
- Create hotfix from an import report: Defaults to High priority; "Critical Hotfix" offers an even higher urgency tier.
